About us
Leo Pest Control was first established by Maurice O’Grady back in 1991 after a ‘leaning on the gate’ chat with a local farmer. Maurice had a rich background of countryside hobbies balanced with a commercial out look as shift manager of the local plastics factory. The company came from humble beginnings being operated part time utilising an ex post office van and spare bedroom at home. After more than a decade of steady growth the company moved to its first premises and was then bought out by Will and Sharon Mears in 2003. From there it has continued to grow and evolve navigating many challenges along the way. We have experienced foot and mouth, the economic boom of the mid 2000’s, a recession, extensive regulation changes, and more recently COVID 19.
The success of Leo Pest Control can only be measured by two simple factors. Firstly, our team of long standing, highly dedicated and skilled staff. Secondly our clients old and new who have stuck with us over the decades. We feel very privileged to work within a real team environment for people from all walks of life.
All technicians are trained under the RSPH Level 2 Diploma base line standard in pest control, are full members of the British Pest Control Association, and are Basis Prompt Registered. Achieving the balance between Public Health protection and the wider environment is always a high priority. Our team are well versed with the requirements of the British Retail Consortium, Marks and Spencer, Soil Association, Red Tractor and Campaign for Responsible use of Rodenticides legislation.
